Each month, we'll be rewarding one of our employees for exceptional performance and we will share their inspiring stories with all of you!  Last month's winner is Cycling Route Manager and Marketing Coordinator Steve Prudente.

Steve Prudente Employee of the Month, April 2016

Wash Cycle Laundry Employee Since October 2014

What is your job and what do you do?
I have two, actually: Cycling Route Manager and Marketing Coordinator. As a route manager, I deliver commercial laundry in North Philly. As a marketing coordinator, I do whatever I can to promote Wash Cycle Laundry. Sometimes it's through social media, other times it's by invading your campus with our laundry trike.

Why do you love your job(s)?

Because no day is the same, and I get the best of both worlds. I enjoy taking photos, writing on the blog, and all the marketing work that I do, but I also enjoy being out on the bike and lifting heavy bags. It's basically getting paid to exercise haha. On that note, I also love my laundry team leader - Mildred - and everyone behind the scenes. They're the real people that make my deliveries possible.

What was your job situation before Wash Cycle Laundry, and how has working here made your life better?

I was working for a non-profit education center, which was actually pretty great, but Wash Cycle has helped me expand on what I love to do. They've given me every opportunity to succeed. I started as a cyclist and was promoted to route manager after about 6 months. Leigh and Noelle started taking notice of my personal blog and Instagram accounts, which led to my promotion into marketing. The sky's the limit here, as far as I'm concerned.

Tell us your favorite Wash Cycle story or achievement.

Delivering flowers to our commercial clients was pretty fun. Sometimes we encounter some not-so-fun customer interactions, but when you're dropping off flowers, everyone is happy. I also got to explore most of the lower section of the city and logged over 40 miles doing it!

What do you do when you're not working?

I like to find trails or interesting sites throughout Philly, usually on my bike. I'm also a huge foodie and a microbrew fan, so if I can connect one of those with a ride, I'll find something new in that vein every weekend. Besides that, guitar, softball, vegan cooking, blogging, and attending games (go Flyers) and other events.

What's the biggest thing you want our customers to know about you?

I genuinely love what I do, and without all of you, it wouldn't be possible. Thank you for supporting us and our mission. It means more to me than I can possibly express.
