Each month, we'll be rewarding one of our employees for exceptional performance and we will share their inspiring stories with all of you!  Last month's winner is Mildred Monroe of our Thompson Street Plant in Philadelphia.

Mildred Monroe Employee of the Month, February 2016Wash Cycle Laundry Employee Since September 2012

What is your job and what do you do? I am a laundry team leader.  I weigh, wash, fold and pack laundry.  I also manage and wash inventory and maintain the day to day operations at our Thompson St. facility. Why do you love your job? I just love laundry.  I've always loved it.  It's something I've always loved to do.  I don't know if it's because I'm a parent and I always wanted to keep my girls clean, but even before I started here I loved laundry.  People ask me "Really you do?"  It's gotta be done, right? What was your job situation before Wash Cycle Laundry? Before I started here, I was working in the EARN Center - it was like a place you went to better yourself and try to find a job.  Gabe met me there and that's how I got the job here. Having a paycheck every week is great, and working at something I enjoy doing is a plus.  You know, I'm not sitting at home watching Wendy Williams in the morning.  I'm in the workforce and doing something I love to do.  It was the best thing that could have happened to me. Tell us your favorite Wash Cycle story or achievement. Washing and folding 757 pounds in 7 hours!  It might have been 6.5 hours because I don't remember if I took a lunch break!  I still fold close to that much some days.  And I always try to keep my work load 2 days ahead of schedule. What do you do when you're not working? Look for work!  Haha...by that I mean I'm at home looking for stuff to wash.  I might go to the movies on the weekends, but 6 days a week I'm doing laundry.  If I have a day off, I like to sleep an d relax.  I also cook Monday-Thursday for my family too!  I wanna organize people and have more company get-togethers. What's the biggest thing you want our customers to know about you? I take pride in my work and I want every customer to be pleased.  I put 110% into my work to make sure it's washed, dried and folded to the best it possibly can be. I don't like errors.  They don't sit well with me.  If I hear back that something wasn't right, I don't like that at all.  So I give it my best every single day.

For her efforts, Mildred was rewarded with a gift card to a restaurant of her choice, and she gets to display this bright, shiny trophy at Thompson Street for this entire month:
