Each month, we’ll be rewarding one of our employees for exceptional performance and we will share their inspiring stories with all of you!  Last month’s winner is Matt Orner, a Consumer Cyclist operating out of our South Street Facility.

Matt Orner
Employee of the Month, October 2016

Wash Cycle Laundry Employee Since February 2014

What is your job and what do you do?

I am a consumer cyclist delivering to individual residents primarily west of Broad Street [in Philadelphia].

Why do you love your job?

It allows me to stay in shape without ever having to go jogging haha.  I also like promoting a sustainable lifestyle to the people of Philly.

What was your job situation before Wash Cycle Laundry, and how has working here made your life better?

I worked as a stock person in retail for about 2 years before joining Wash Cycle.  Upon joining, I started spending way more time outdoors and got into way better shape.

Tell us your favorite Wash Cycle story or achievement.

I’ve had to make emergency deliveries to pretty far out customers in the past, like West Philly or Northern Liberties.  It’s nice to know I can bike a pretty far distance in a short amount of time.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I practice the drums, try to find cool music to listen to, and watch movies with my friends.

What’s the biggest thing you want our customers to know about you?

You don’t need to feel sorry for me when the weather’s bad.  I’m used to it.

For his efforts, Matt was rewarded

with a gift card to a restaurant of his choice, and he’ll be displaying our bright, shiny Employee of the Month trophy at our South Street facility all month long!
